Isla Taboga,is located approximately 20 km and about an hour from Panama City in the Gulf of Panama. It is a volcanic island known as the "Island of Flowers".
Rich in colorful history and discovered in the 16th century by the the Spanish explorer Vasco Nunez de Balboa, the island was originally named Isla de San Pedro.
The town church, San Pedro, is claimed to be the second-oldest church in the hemisphere.
Island history includes; the birthplace of a saint, tolerance of Conquistadors, Gold Rush adventurers and the fury of marauding pirates. While on the island you can enjoy the beautiful natural areas. Hike the trails to the highest points including Cerro Vigia and Cerro de la Cruz which is topped with a large cross. Boats are available for whale watching, snorkeling. fishing and sightseeing as well as nature tours. Taboga Island has restaurants , hotels and cafes.
