Day 202 of 365 Things To Do in Panama

Day 202 of 365 Things To Do in Panama. Collect Sea Glass Treasures!

Sea glass is everywhere in the world. It originates as pieces of glass from broken bottles, tableware, shipwrecks and discarded trash. The pieces of glass tumble and roll for years in the ocean causing the slickness to wear to a frosty appearance and the edges to become rounded.

For beach walkers, discovering a rare piece of wave-battered glass can be like finding gold. These bits of sea glass can awaken the imagination; where did come from and what can I do with it? The most common colors of beach glass are brown, emerald green and white. These come from household jars, ordinary and beer bottles. Aquamarine, lavender and red pieces are rare to find.
