Welcome to our new weekly series about the uniqueness of Panama.

For a Panama citizen to get a drivers license a driving road test is not required. The candidate must take and pass a parking test. If a person does not have access to a car there are people at the testing station who rent cars to candidates for a minimal fee so they can take their test.

Every car in Panama must have 3rd party liability insurance. This means that the car is insured but not the owner or driver.
