Day 61 of 365 Things to Do in Panama. Paddle thorugh the Mangrove Forests found throughout Panama.

Go slow enough to gaze into each trees looking for birdlife, peer below the surface for fish darting in the roots. Mangroves reflect the overall health of neighboring ecosystems.

The Panama Bight mangroves are the most important intact mangroves in the world, in addition to being the most extensive in the eastern Pacific Ocean. The trees are the tallest mangrove specimens in the Neotropics. The coast along the Gulf of Chiriqui features one of the largest expanses of mangrove forest in Central America.
