Day 238 of 365 Things To Do in Panama. Make your way to Cañon Macho de Monte!

Cañon Macho de Monte is a spectacular place located in Cuesta de Piedras in the Province of Chiriqui. The canon was formed by the Río Macho de Monte in Panama’s western highlands. You can see volcanic rocks from Baru Volcano about 600 years ago.

The river runs along the western side of the Barú Volcano and carves through dramatic rock faces creating vertical and smooth walls as it makes its way to the Pacific Ocean.

Visitors can swim in the clear pools, kayak, hike, admire the waterfalls and fauna and flora.

Grab your tour guide and visit one of the most magnificent places in Panama.
