El único Panamá - Week 43

Welcome to our weekly series about the uniqueness of Panama!

The largest organic nursery in Central America is located in El Olivo in the village of El Caño de Natá, province of Coclé. The project aims to promote an agricultural model based on innovation and technology. It has a labor force of more than 200 people from the region and more than 10 companies from the US and Israel have equipped the facility with state-of-the-art technology. They have exchanged their knowledge and experiences with Panamanian producers and with ministry technicians.

The Ministry of Agricultural Development (MIDA) states that this project, which has seven hectares arranged for controlled agriculture, has required an investment of more than 4 million dollars, and will make it possible to produce seedlings with "high genetics."
