Nature's Sand Art!
The Panama Riviera provides an abundance of new experiences and visual beauty. One of these is the blend of black and white sand found on the beaches and the artwork uncovered as the tides change.
The black sand formed when the lava flow from the erupted El Valle volcano reached the ocean over 40,000 years ago.
The black sand has a magnetic property. Although it sparkles like diamonds, the sand absorbs a deal of the sun's energy and gets very hot to walk in bare feet.
