Pope Francis is coming to Panama to celebrate World Youth Day!
In a unique opportunity to showcase the country, its people, and its culture, Panamá will host World Youth Day 2019 from January 22 to 27, which includes a visit by the Pope for the first time since 1983. World Youth Day (Jornada Mundial de la Juventud) is an international Catholic Church event typically celebrated every three years in a different country.
It is estimated over 200,000 visitors from all over the world are expected to participate in World Youth Day events. That represents a temporary boost in the country’s population of more than 10 percent! Whereas, the main events will be held along the Cinta Costera in Panamá City, youth across the country will be celebrating with festivities in their home towns.
